Questions and Answers

Is Homeopathy safe?

Yes, providing advice is followed and commonsense observed.  For remedies to be able to create dramatic and permanent cures however, they must be potentially powerful-and can therefore equally cause harm when misapplied.  Always stop taking them when symptoms  improve and reconsider any changes in symptoms in case a different remedy is indicated

My complaints are chronic, so I’d expect good days and bad days.  How will I know that I’m actually getting better?

Healing is generally understood to occur.

  • From the most to the least important organs eg brain>heart>skin

  • From inside, outwards

  • From above, downwards

  • In the reverse chronological order to the onset of complaints

This means that as current symptoms improve, previously unresolved ones may return briefly.  Paradoxically improved vitality means that high fevers or an annual streaming cold are evidence of the body’s increased ability to detox.

How scientific is homeopathy?

Remedies are prepared and tested in laboratories under strict clinical conditions and their effects replicated under a variety of conditions.  The fact that animals and babies respond extremely well to treatment, shows you don’t have to believe in it for it to work.  Even the placebo effect or positive impact of consulting a practitioner who inspires belief and hope, will rarely be sufficient if not backed up with good, solid prescribing.

Remedies are prescribed according to the ‘totality of symptoms’ not the disease label.  This involves detective work, in looking for the underlying imbalance rather than its symptoms.
